That’s what at the back of my head as I reflect back the
news I’ve received yesterday from Mun Teng. You see, she has applied for this
scholarship and study in Germany. Yes, praise the Lord that the University had
replied back, and called her for an interview! But surprise surprise, the
interview will be in Mumbai, India! The place where initially I was supposed to
go ( I was due to go with my colleague, however due to last minute change of
plan I didn’t go).
Well, first and foremost. I rejoice because she has been
called for an interview from a German University. But shame on them the venue
will be in India. Why? Why do they even want to do it in India. Is it that
majority of their Asian applicants are from India? Why not Singapore for the ASPAC
applicants? Or even HK. India. Well said. First thing I do is to check the
flight as if Mun Teng would go there alone, I’m not that comfortable of her
safety. Mind you. The ticket are not cheap. RM 2000 for a return air ticket
from MAS. The next cheapest I can find is Jet Star, which the difference is not
that much I would say. Air Asia has since aborted all of its flight to India,
and even so, they don’t have a flight to Mumbai. Well Well Well. This is enough
to give me some headache, for today at least. Or dilemma I would say. Let’s
concentrate on this Sunday’s Marathon.
